LEAGUE REVIEW:

Lord Dilks won his second successive tournament to bring his overall tally of Mega Drive Championship titles to four, one behind Mr Smith. It had been a closely fought event with the points and goal differences between the two men tantilisingly tight. It was 2-0 victory, on Golden Axe 2, over his rival that secured Lord Dilks the title in the final game of the tournament. The relegation battle promised to be an all out scrap between Baron Von Hooton and Sir Jackaman, with Baron Von Hooton just edging the lead with a superior goal difference after the first leg. Yet it quickly descended into farce after Sir Jackaman disappeared for the second leg and his games were forfeit, securing Baron Von Hooton's place in the top league. Division Two was also tainted with absenteeism. New member, General Pink, had been lined up for the competition, however, he failed to appear for the competition, as did Private Mary who thought he would sulk off on holiday and not inform anybody. Into the Division Two line-up stepped Lieutenant Gareth who, after a tightly contested league campaign, finished just one point a head of former Champion, Doc Shakib, to win the league. Professor Mizutani finished last, three points behind Lieutenant Gareth.

KNOCKOUT REVIEW:

Undoubtably the shock of the Tenth Tournament Knockout was the elimination of Sir Jackaman, in Round One, at the hands of tournament newcomer General Pink. He advanced to the Semi-Finals where he was sheduled to battle Lord Dilks on Streets of Rage 2, however, General Pink decided not to turn up to the event and the game was duely forfeit. Lord Dilks won the knockout after beating Doc Shakib on NBA Jam in the only tournament game where the score was not recorded. Mr Smith once again found himself in the Semi-Finals after Private Mary failed to attend their Round One fixture on Pete Sampras Tennis, he narrowly lost to Doc Shakib on Golden Axe 2.
