LEAGUE REVIEW:

The Mega Drive Championships started with a game of Lord Dilks Vs Doc Shakib on World Cup Italia '90. The game that inspired the setting up of the original tournament, Doc Shakib Vs Mr Smith on Sonic the Hedgehog 2, took place afterwards. Mr Smith won the 'race' and went on to win the First Mega Drive Championship after a 10-4 victory against Doc Shakib on World Cup Italia '90. Lord Dilks had led during the early part of the tournament, but slipped to second place, he finished three points behind Mr Smith. Doc Shakib ended up bottom of the table with two victories from six games. The highlight of the First Tournament was a tight game on Golden Axe, where Doc Shakib scrapped a 1-0 victory against Mr Smith.

MAIN POINTS IN THE SETTING UP OF THE FIRST TOURNAMENT:

• Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat
Golden Axe, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and World Cup Italia '90 are chosen for the tournament games
• In the event of two members being equal on points, positioning will be decided by goal difference
• In the event of two members being tied and both points and goal difference, positioning will be decided with a game on Streets of Rage 2
