Lord Dilks won the Seventeenth Mega Drive Championship with a two-point margin over second placed Captain Maltby. Despite winning the Mega Drive Championships on six prior occasions, this was his first league victory since the Fourteenth Tournament. Lord Dilks won the Challenge Trophy for the third time in its four tournament history, he dispatched finalist, Earl Holbrook, with relative ease. Lord Dilks was also knocked out in Round Two of the Tournament Knockout when he was defeated by Professor King on Mortal Kombat, Lord Dilks had won the Tournament Knockout at the Tenth and Eleventh Championships.
