The European Mega Drive Championships are series of tournaments contested between representitives from different nations on the 16-bit console, the Sega Mega Drive. The innaugural contest was an Anglo-Irish Tournament held in September 2007. We currently have five nations trying to assemble five-person teams for the next event, which is expected to take place in early September, and will be more than happy to entertain teams from further countries around Europe. |
One year after the battle (you've got to love that Streets of Rage 2 reference) it will be time for the Irish to defend their crown. Now no longer perecieved as the underdogs, will the Champions be able to show the spirit, ability and guile that gifted them the Anglo-Irish Trophy, or will they buckle under the pressure of expectation against a resurgant Team England and the highly anticipated newcomers, Team Portugal? Other nations are also in the early stages of gathering teams, should they sucessfully assemble a squad for the competition then the prize could well be heading to another country entirely. |
